Shark Tank In Light Of Direct Sales Opportunities

Last night I was watching a new reality television show called Shark Tank. In this show entrepreneurs pitch 5 very rich super successful business investors with an opportunity to invest in their business for an ownership stake.

What is interesting is the huge percentage of people on the show that have put hundreds of thousands of dollars into businesses that are going nowhere and even after being told they are wasting their time and money by these successful business people most are adamant they will never quit. They have mortgaged their lives and put everything on the line for their dream. Some have spent $500,000 or more trying to get their business off the ground and have not made a dime.

But what interests me the most is some of these stories in light of so many conversations I have on a daily basis with newbie entrepreneurs who are seeking to make money in network or affiliate marketing online.

There are people going into debt for $200,000, $500,000 and much more all the time for losing business ideas that are unproven and considered bad ideas by ultra successful business people.

What blows my mind is that I talk to prospects and newbie network marketers weekly who are complaining that they have to spend several hundred dollars to get into a home based business that has already been proven over and over again by successful people who are making millions. Frankly, if someone is not willing to invest $500 in a home based business that has already been proven then they need to go back to work and give up the idea.

The Direct Sales Lifestyle

Doing direct sales full time is an amazing life. I have decided to take the day off, keep my 4 year old son home from daycare and hang out together. I certainly could have never done this when I worked for the insurance company.

I will get back to work on Saturday but for today the weekend begins!

Traditional Network Marketing In Action

Last night we held a “home meeting” or private business reception at the home of one of my down line and we signed up all 3 people present. We already have meetings scheduled with those 3 to share the business opportunity with their warm market.

My down line who held the meeting made it to Manager from this one night and I am on my way to Director.

Those who say traditional network marketing (warm market prospecting, meetings, etc.) doesn’t work are flat our wrong.

I could have 300 Internet leads and not even convert one of those but 3 warm market leads and they are signed up and already working to promote the business.
