If you answer your phone to find someone on the other end is offering you a service, you are, more than likely, talking to a telemarketing service. If you ever wondered what a telemarketer’s job must be like, you probably pictured a large room filled with hundreds of desks and phones ringing constantly. In reality, however, the person you are communicating with could easily be sitting at home with their children. There are a large variety of agencies that hire individuals to work from home for their company. If you meet the requirements and can work your home life around their scheduling, then it’s a great opportunity for you.
One requirement for work from home telemarketers is great communication skills. When an individual answers their phone, they expect to here a soft, friendly voice coming from the other end, not a voice that is rushing to finish a sentence and impatient to hear your answer. If you are going to be a telemarketer, you must have good listening skills and the patience to answer every question asked of you.
Depending upon the company you choose to work for, you will have many options in your schedule. Part time positions consist of 3-4 hour shift and full time positions have 8-10 hour shifts. You will be given the number of days required for your position and from there, you will choose what shifts you will work on those given days. During your shift, you are required to answer your work telephone every time it rings, or for other jobs, you must make a specific number of calls an hour.
Telemarketing as a work from home job is an excellent way to make a steady income. As long as you meet all the requirements for the telemarketing agency, work by their schedule, and have good communication skills, you should have no problem.
