If you are considering taking a job that will allow you to work from home, you will find there are many advantages for you. However, you will also find there are many disadvantages in working at home. The fact is, only you can decide whether or not it is right for you or not. The best thing you can do is create a list of the pros and cons of home employment to help you make the right decision for you. The following is a basic list to get you started:

Pros
Home employment means you may not need daycare for your children anymore. You can save money on what you are now spending on childcare expenses.

You can also save a lot of money on commuting expenses. From gasoline, oil changes, and the wear and tear put on your vehicle, it can add up to a large amount.

Of course, as you will work from your home, you can also save on other things, such as lunches, coffee, and expensive clothing for work.

When you work at home, you are in charge. This means you will no longer be stressed out about the fear of getting laid off from your job or not getting that raise you were counting on.

Your employment at home also means that you are in control of the work you are doing. You can choose the jobs you like and turn down those that do not appeal to you.

You also stand a great chance of earning a lot more money than you were making in your previous job.

Cons
Home employment means you will have to try and get the work done amid a thousand and one distractions.

You may find it difficult to stay on task. It takes some time to get used to working at your home.

You may find yourself feeling lonely and missing the socialization that comes with the traditional work setting.

Your pay will be based on how much work you complete and you will no longer receive a steady, weekly paycheck.

You must be a go-getter and go after new work, unlike a traditional job where more work is placed on your desk for you.

You are in charge and the decision maker. All responsibility lies on you.
