A Major Obstacle For Women in Business is Fear of Success – 5 Tips to Keep Your Foot Off the Brakes

In the years that I have worked in the direct sales industry, I have noticed one obstacle common to the majority of women that I have mentored. That obstacle is fear of success. It seems to permeate all generations from Baby Boomers through women in their early twenties. There is subtle programming that is inherent in most women that causes us to put on the brakes before reaching our goals or going forward once we attain a certain level. We are secretly telling ourselves:

We do not deserve it.

It is not right to make more money than our spouse.

We did not really want that responsibility anyway.

Here are 5 tips to keep your foot off the brakes the next time you attempt to reach a goal and suddenly stop yourself:

1. Think bigger. Although it is necessary for your goals to be reachable and believable, many women think much smaller than they are capable of. Tell yourself you do deserve all the abundance that is in the universe.

2. Take your goals and business seriously. Women live longer than men. To survive in this economy, in the event that something should suddenly happen to your husband, or to provide for yourself in your old age, is your decision. Do not allow anyone else to make those decisions for you.

3. Allow yourself to get out of your comfort zone. This does not mean you have to completely scare yourself. Take it step by step. Always reach for a little bit more once you achieve a short term goal. See your long term goal in front of you. The worst part of getting out of your comfort zone is simply the action of getting out of it. Once you do, you find it was not as hard as you thought.

Reprogram and empower yourself. There are endless ways to do this but one of the most effective ways that I have experienced is through the process of creating affirmations for your self. Affirmations must also be believable in order for them to work. I personally recommend using them in the form of questions to allow your brain to overcome obstacles subconsciously. An example of this would be: Why do I have enough money to do the things I love to do? Your brain will start to look for ways to answer your question.

Affirmations are an effective tool to manifest your deepest dreams and desires. I invite you to visit http://www.affirmsuccessfully.com to get more information on how to make your affirmations work better for you in a way you can believe in.

Much happiness and success
